When I first met her, what stood out most was how talkative she was. At first, it was just something that made me smile but the more she spoke, the more I realized how full of life, warmth, and honesty she is. In that moment, without even trying, she showed me exactly who she is, and that’s when I knew… she was the right person for me

I knew he was mine the way peace showed up when he came around. It didnt feel loud or forced but just sure. Somewhere between the conversations and quiet moments, I stopped imagining someone to come and started seeing him, my forever prince charming and best friend.

Our Story

How It Happened

June, 2021

How we met

It all began 2500 days ago when Lucky was on a work trip to Bulawayo. Along the way, a friend entrusted him with a parcel of beautiful cups to deliver to Gracious in Kwekwe, where she was working at the time. Gracious planned to sell the cups, and even then, her entrepreneurial spirit was already shining through.

He proposed, I said Yes

As Gracious’s business continued to grow, Lucky became the trusted person delivering more cups for her. With every phone call and message, his curiosity grew stronger. Before long, he knew he had to meet the woman behind the voice despite the traveling restrictions set during the Covid-19 pandemic. Determined to see her in person, Lucky travelled to Gweru, Gracious’s hometown. The moment he met her, his curiosity turned into admiration. “What a beautiful young woman she is,” he thought to himself. From that day forward, what began with a simple delivery of cups became the beginning of a beautiful love story, one that would eventually lead them to where they are today.

Memories We Did Together

Over the years, we have shared countless memorable moments that have strengthened not only our love but also our friendship. We have laughed until our stomachs hurt, supported each other through life’s challenges, celebrated milestones together, travelled, created beautiful memories, and enjoyed the simple moments that mean the most. Through every season, we have remained each other’s biggest supporters, confidants, and best friends. Looking back, it is these shared experiences that have built the strong foundation of our relationship and brought us to this special chapter of our lives.

Our Engagement Day

Like many of our weekends, we were sharing a light dinner, laughing and enjoying each other’s company. Lucky has never been a man of many words, so I knew something was different when he paused, smiled, and said, “You look so beautiful when you smile, do you know that? It would make me the happiest man alive if you would allow me to send my uncles to your father, so that I can legally call you my wife.” I took a moment before answering because I was genuinely trying to process what he had just said. Once it all sank in, I smiled and happily said, “Yes.” It was a simple, heartfelt moment that marked the beginning of our forever.
